Scottish Government's Consultation on Withdrawing Children from Religious Observance and Religious Education in Schools

As you will probably know, the Scottish Government is currently consulting on a proposal to amend the legislation on religious observance and education in schools. This is to bring legislation into line with the UN Charter on the Rights of the Child. It is proposing to take into account the views of the child when the parent wishes to withdraw them from religious observance and education.

 

If you  haven’t already, would you respond to the survey and ask your parishioners to do the same. It occurred to me that this may not have been drawn clearly enough to your attention.
